Melancholy

Another day in this world

Once again,I wake up.

One could say that I was still asleep

Or, never awake at all.

The rain splattered around me,

While I walked this night.

With no set destination,

No one noticed as I went by.

I put on a fake smile

As I greet my coworkers.

They see my facade of love and happiness,

But don't notice the hatred I harbor.

Forced to deceive and hide,

To try and appear conventional.

In the eyes of society,

My true self was abnormal.

Their world of vibrance

And my world of sorrow

Shall never unite

Be it today, or tomorrow.

Lying in the wait,

Waiting forevermore.

In anticipation of the only salvation ,

The day when it continues no more.

The rain splattered around me,

While i walked this night.

Through this eternal limbo,

With no hopeful light.
